Forest Certification and Readiness
INRS’ President Charles Levesque has been involved in forest certification since its early days in the 1990s. Today he provides third-party auditing services through certification bodies. He has audited on over 18 million acres in North American. For consulting, INRS can provide the following certification assistance:
Sustainable Forestry Initiative
INRS provides consulting for land owners and managers and private industries looking to become certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) program, a system of principles, objectives, performance measures and indicators developed by professional foresters, conservationists and scientists.
Forest Stewardship Council
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests through its certification system. INRS provides knowledgeable services to land managers and others looking to certify to FSC standards.
The American Tree Farm System® (ATFS) is a program of the American Forest Foundation committed to sustaining forests, watershed and healthy habitats through the power of private stewardship on smaller family forests. INRS works with group managers and landowners seeking certification to this sustainable forestry standard. INRS’ President Charles Levesque has been a Tree Farm Inspecting Forester since the early 1980s.
